Recently, a group of 9 faculty and graduate students from the Center for Forest Business journeyed out to Portland, Oregon to attend the International Forestry Center’s annual “Who Will Own the Forest?” conference. A diverse group of presenters and panels from across the industry discussed a broad range of topics including key drivers of timberland value, issues that the industry is or will soon be facing and the dynamic opportunities that exist in timberland investment. We also had the pleasure of hearing from our very own Dean, Dr. Mike Clutter, as he discussed the historical changes in timberland investment and the cultivation of future timberland managers.
