The last year has been a busy one at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. The CFB welcomed a number of new students to its ranks, all seeking the Masters in Forest Resources (MFR) degree. The student directory link at the top of the page is a great place to get to know everyone.
The Southeastern division of the Society of American Foresters held their annual meeting in Panama City Beach this past week, and a number of the students and faculty were in attendance.
The meeting was a great success, bringing together students from all of the major forestry programs across the South East. In addition to this, the meeting featured presentations by a number of leading researchers in their fields, ranging from soils and hydrology to finance and economics. Topics relevant to today’s foresters were well presented and extremely informative, with new operational techniques and forward looking economic considerations each receiving ample attention.
We hope to see you at next year’s meeting.
