Dr. Dale Greene, Dean of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources addressed 400+ timberland investment professionals at the Who Will Own the Forest (WWOTF) conference in Portland, Oregon on September 13, 2017. The WWOTF conference attracts timberland investment professionals from across the globe to the World Forestry Center each year for two and a half days of presentations, conversations and networking opportunities centering around all aspects of timberland management and investments. Dean Greene of UGA, David Newman of SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry and Thomas Maness of Oregon State’s College of Forestry discussed what their respective universities are doing to prepare the next generation of forest managers.
Hargreaves Distinguished Professor of Forest Finance Jon Caulfield and three forest business graduate students attended the WWOTF conference this year. UGA alumnus Jack Tribble and his colleague Tom Skaggs of Outdoor Underwriters sponsored one student’s conference attendance and hosted the UGA representatives for dinner while in Portland (photo below). Thank you to Outdoor Underwriters for supporting the Harley Langdale, Jr. Center for Forest Business!
